A new café on the Central Coast is giving dementia patients and their carers a much-needed break and chance to share their stories.

The Forget Me Not Café, set up by Brisbane Water Rotary volunteers at Umina’s CWA Hall, is open every 2nd and 4th Monday morning.

Caroline Perryman went along for a cuppa and met Margaret Fletcher and her husband of 40 years Brian, an opera singer who suffers dementia.

Margaret recently made the difficult decision to have a weekend away and leave Brian in care, as she explained to the group.
