The effect of COVID-19 on public health around the world has been stark – some 4 million fatalities.
But what’s been the effect on global conflict?
The Institute for Economics and Peace publishes an annual Global Peace Index. The 2021 report shows COVID-19 has actually decreased violence in the world’s most traditionally troubled area – the Middle East and North Africa.
But it has increased strife in the US.
